CIS Presentation-Laura Fitton

Laura came to bentley to speak to the IT 101x class about the benefits of Twitter. Personally I am still not sold. Her presentation was very interesting and I learned aspects of Twitter that I did not know before, but my preferences lie with facebook. While Twitter has it's benefits, such as: It allows information to spread quicker and reach the public, even if the government prefers it not to be released, as in the Beijing riot during the olympics. It also allows people to follow each other and deliver messages to essentially a wider demographic, for instance she explained how one message can travel to one person who spreads it to another, and so on. These aspects of Twitter make a really convenient service for people who run businesses, such as Laura, but in my opinion will not be welcomed by the teenage world.
